COURSE AIM 

Many women with vulval disease can suffer for years with undiagnosed symptoms. This online course will teach you how to diagnose and manage, from both a clinical and psychological perspective, a range of female specific skin conditions that are very common and can occur at any age. You will also gain an understanding of the anatomical structure of normal vulval variants, which is essential to an understanding of female genital skin disorders.

COURSE STRUCTURE 

Online Modules

This 12 week course consists of 5 online topics:

  1. Anatomy and normal vulval variants
  2. Vulval dermatitis and psoriasis
  3. Lichenoid Dermatoses
  4. Infections
  5. Neuropathic pain and dyspareunia

Webinars

Participate in webinars and discussion forums on diagnosis and management directly with our expert dermatologists.

Practical Workshops

Respond to authentic clinical case studies and challenge yourself to provide a diagnosis and first-step management plan on the clinical information and dermoscopic images.

Assessment

To successfully complete this subject, you must:

  • Complete the 5 Units including prescribed activities e.g.: revision exercises, and practice scenarios
  • Successfully complete the summative assessment tasks
  • Final MCQ examination (Pass mark 75%)
  • Three set case studies

These courses are designed to provide Doctors and related health professionals with knowledge and skills in a range of Dermatology and skin health areas to develop their expertise and confidence in dealing with patients who present with dermatological conditions. It aims to assist you in the day-to-day management of these patients and in making the decision as to when to refer a patient to a Dermatologist.

Completion of this course does not provide you with qualifications in dermatology or guarantee you access into the ACD Specialist Training Program.
