Sunlight can have a positive impact on our physical and mental health, but it is also associated with a variety of unwanted conditions.

Ultraviolet (UV) light causes most photobiologic skin reactions and diseases. Disorders of pigmentation are commonly encountered, evaluated, and treated in primary care practice. While most colouration disorders are harmless, sometimes they can indicate systemic medical conditions.

Proper diagnosis allows medical practitioners to facilitate appropriate skin treatment, provide reassurance, or initiate the appropriate referral.

In this module you will learn to:

1. Detect the effects of EMR and light on the skins
2. Outline and assess the most appropriate treatment options based on various clinical scenarios
3. Identify the risks of adverse outcomes associated with various treatment options

Complete this module online, at your own pace and from the comfort of your home or office.
